• Applies to all passenger carrying vehicles from 'S' registration.
• All tow bars must carry a type approval label or plate, with a type approval number.
• Type approved tow bars have been subjected to and passed a
  2 million cycle push pull fatigue test. 
• Witter type approved tow bars are certified by the UK Vehicle Certification Agency.
• Watch out for misleading labels. Ensure that the unique type approval number is clearly marked on the label.
• Type approved tow bars must fit to all of the vehicle manufacturers designated mounting points.
• Fitting a type approved tow bar will not invalidate the vehicle manufacturer's warranty.
• Fitment of a non type approved tow bar for a vehicle registered 'S' and onwards could result in prosecution.
• If a non type approved tow bar is fitted, the driver's insurance may be invalidated in the event of an accident.

Complete Vehicle Accessories tow bars are designed for use within the vehicle manufacturers recommended towing limits. It must be taken into consideration by the user that towing a twin axle trailer, towing over rough terrain or using tow ball mounted carriers adds extra loads onto a tow bar.

With this in mind extra care must be taken so that the vehicle manufacturers recommended limits are not exceeded.  Towing outside of these limits will invalidate the above guarantee.
